Quartet.

Anton van Munster (the camera man of Bert Haanstra), shot the film “Quartet”, largely in our workshop in Hilversum. Anton, who is himself a keen amateur violinist, followed and filmed the making of a string quartet of instruments for more than a year. During the performance of the string quartet no. 13 “Rosamunde” from Franz Schubert, played by the Orlando-Quartet, footage of the building of two violins, a viola and a cello are intertwined masterfully.
The film received it's premiere in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, It was shown on dutch television twice and was aired numerous times on other TV channels around the world. Anton van Munster won the prestigious “Golden Hugo” award in the USA, for best documentary of the year with this film.
